It’s that time of year when many of us resolve to get in shape and shed a few pounds. Those of us at The Manor Group are part of that group of resolution makers and struggle with keeping up with our goals once the first few weeks of January have passed.
A commonly heard excuse for not going to the gym is lack of time. We are all super busy with kids, jobs and Netflix, right? Fortunately, we offer an on-site fitness center. No need to spend time in traffic driving to an from the gym! Plus, if Netflix is still taking up too much of your free time, we provide complimentary WIFI so you can get your binge on while you work your bulge off!
Another way to keep yourself on track is to find a buddy. Walking club, Zumba classes and weight loss meetings are just a few of the wonderful community activities we have hosted so residents can get help in reaching their goals. Tell us what would help you stay accountable.
We wish you a fit and healthy 2017 and hope your resolutions become good habits. Remember that our pool season is just a few months away!
At Country Club Apartments, we consistently strive to explore new ways of giving back to the community. This year we wanted to help Ayden Zeigler-Kohler, a 9 year old boy who is fighting brain cancer. Ayden is currently receiving radiation treatments five days a week at John Hopkins University Medical Center.
To help Ayden in his battle, we hosted a Fall Festival with a raffle for some amazing prise, including Marshall football tickets that were donated by a generous resident. We set up a hot dog stand and offered hay rides, face painting, a bouncy house, a pumpkin decorating contest for the kids, and a corn hole tournament for the adults.
A grand total of $1002 was raised for Ayden and his family to help with medical bills. We are so appreciative of the kindness and generosity of the great people who live at Country Club!
Country Club Apartments’ residents have a host of activities to enjoy in the local area. Whether you prefer the great outdoors, history or cultural events, there is something for every interest.
Located in the largest inland port in the United States, Huntington, WV is a fun and lively community filled to the docks with culture and tradition. Huntington sits on the banks of the Ohio River, where Ohio and Kentucky meet. Talk about living in two places at once! Historically, Huntington’s ports were used to ship lumber and coal using steamboats to help expand the railroad. Now, the waters are used for more than just transportation, but also for leisurely activities, such as boating and fishing for largemouth bass and blue catfish.
Tired of the water? Time to strap on your land legs and head downtown to Pullman Square, a uniques outdoor shopping area featuring a variety of shopping and dining venues. Do not be fooled, Pullman Square is unlike any other “mall”. This superstructure also offers a calendar of family events throughout the year, such as free movies, a summer concert series and Max and Erma’s pancake breakfast.
Come see what makes us proud to call Huntington, WV our home.
